Conference Mission:
The conference and career expo will lead to greater awareness for all attendees as they explore issues impacting income inequality for males of color as well as solutions and best practices for improving economic mobility.
The conference featured executive panels, remarks from Fairfax County leadership, more than 20 breakout sessions, lunch and a career expo. The career expo featured over 40 companies throughout the region and facilitated on site hiring, information sessions, internship, higher education, apprenticeship and employment connections.

This career expo hosts employers and community resources from various industries including technology, engineering, government, business, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and non-profit. The expo is open to all working aged individuals and features:

- I was provided opportunities to engage with peers, community members, industry professionals, and university faculty & staff. I was provided with strategies to help me successfully navigate my career path. I believe the Unite Conference allowed me to expand my professional network.
- One thing I learned is:
- Don't count yourself out. Despite the difficulties, bad grades, or failures you can persevere. With community and some diligence you can go far. It's never too late to start a career! I learned that you can get paid while doing vocational training as an electric technician The concept of grind is unhealthy. If you want to accomplish something, let there be time to rest instead of continuously following that path unhealthily. The importance of having two types of mentors. A functional mentor and market mentor. The presentation portion of the Conference was very insightful. Trust yourself and make connections! Must engage with people with different behavior types It's you versus you in your field If you want to succeed you have to push yourself I learned that you can do whatever you put your mind to. Students aren't exposed to STEM careers (enough).

- 100% of survey respondents agreed that they will attend CYEP UNITE next year. 100% of survey respondents agreed that they would recommend CYEP UNITE to a friend or colleague. 97% of survey respondents reported that UNITE Career Expo met their needs.
